MORE Snow!

7:30 am

                Lovely wet sloppy snow fell over night. A surprise. It is sticking to all the branches right now so is very nice. I will really need to get out in it at some point soon before it all melts.

                K is off on Long Island doing Sandy relief, so it is just me and the Dog and the Grading this weekend. I was so utterly exhausted when I got home yesterday, around 5:30, that I did nothing except sit. Well, besides feeding buns and dealing with the fire and making supper. And I did spin a little bit. And I spent a long time on the phone, first with L then with K. Today I will have to be very productive as I must finish the exam and get started on the cleavage reports.

                 I slept reasonably well probably bc I let Tigger sleep in the bedroom so he did not wake me up until 5:30. I also gave him one and a half of his extra pain pills at around 10 so maybe that helped. He’s been doing really badly lately about waking us up with barking in the middle of the night and then K comes out here and sleeps on the couch until he settles down. But I do not want to have to do that. I fed him at 5:30, then let him out and back in again, and went back to bed.

                Lab this past week went quite well. They did their Sea Urchin Independent projects so of course it was hectic, but it went well enough. Next week they do the Lily culture and we talk about their results so that should be more relaxed. As for the next 2 days: as I said I must grade. And deal with Tigger. And I must get myself to the library to both return a book and get the one on reserve for me. It is the next bookclub book, and it is a long one, so we’ll see if I manage to finish it. Maybe I should finish all the stuff I need to do, then walk into town early. As in before all the snow slops off the trees as it is already doing. And I could sit in Raos or somewhere to do some grading. Oh and my friend may come over at some point, but it was left vague. I spoke to her briefly while I was in the middle of cleaning up the lab. Another thing I might do is to make some French toast for breakfast. Or I could be speedier about things and make French toast for lunch when I get home. Yesterday morning K was determined to go to the Hadley Sugar Shack on their first morning. They opened at 7 am and we were there by golly. I guess he really wanted to go bc he knew he would be gone all weekend and so we could not go then. So we went.
