Superbowl at Webs and Sauerkraut

7:30 am
Saturday. What a relief. Then tomorrow is Sunday and I plan to go to Webs to join the other knitters from work 12-4 for the “get away from the game” party. I was thinking yesterday, that I didn’t even really realize that the superbowl was anything until the time that a friend brought it up at the farm. I guess he mentioned that it was coming up and I was confused that it was something that in fact came up. That one knew when it would be, that it was something that was scheduled and one planned for months ahead. This had never entered my radar before, though I had certainly heard of “Bowls” as in the Rose Bowl and the Cotton Bowl and I had heard of the Super Bowl. Well now it is coming up and whoopdeedoo. I will go to Webs where lots of knitters/spinners will gather so that should be reasonably fun.
In a bit today, around 9, a teacher from the Middle School is coming to “borrow” a rabbit. He had emailed about it ages ago, and is only now following up. Trouble is that it is really cold out again, and I assume he wants the rabbit inside, so that will put a deal of stress on her. I will try to see if he has some sort of intermediate place, like a garage or basement, where she could be for a day or two before she is completely inside in the heat. I think I will let him take one of the white females, just have to decide which one.
First Person last night was pretty decent. It was just me, Linda, Ali and Ajay. We all read pretty short pieces and so ended kind of early. I just grabbed a journal from 2010 and read a few poems tucked in there, and they were ok. And I finished the hat for Fran, so I can give it to Janet Sunday and she can pass it on. It came out very lovely, very blue, very thick, very soft, very warm. I have also finished the bunny and I must contact the person that wanted it and send it off. I just started some wrist warmers from the gray (is it Crystal) angora. Not sure the size is right, I will see.
First lab this week. I had Thursday am and Friday pm. They went well, Friday much better than Thursday bc I was more ready and adjusted things that didn’t work so well the first time. That is always how it goes. Once I get started on lab, it is hard to remember everything I had wanted to tell the students. In fact, there is far too much telling involved. They will not remember 1/10th of it all.  That is something I need to think about more. Too much telling. Needs to be less of that and more doing.
Soon, as soon as I am done with this, I will make a nice fruit salad for bfast. I got a mango the other day and a cantaloupe Thursday so now I can combine them. And add yogurt and nuts. Speaking of which I ought to make some yogurt, am nearly out. I did start more sauerkraut from cabbage from the winter share. I hope it works out well, the last stuff was great, and I still have some. It takes a few weeks, so maybe by the time this is ready the other stuff will be gone. I have more cabbage, so I will slice up more later today.
Ok, time to feed buns, then I will make my fruit salad. THEN I will do not so great stuff like pull together stuff for taxes. And try to finish stuff for the fair (I’ve been working very hard on that all week).
