Second day
of summer! First day was mainly spent biking. We joined friends and biked up to
bookmill for a quick tea, then on to the diner for breakfast sandwiches, then
over the canal trail, over the rail trail bridge, around through the fields and
over the hill and back across the river and then we split off and stopped to
get a qt of ice cream which we brought back to have with the strawberries left
from the party on Sat. Sat was party day – a grad party, then work party for
the parting Fellows. Anyway, at the end of our bike ride I was pretty beat. I did
manage to get over to buy 2 bales of hay, for which the rabbits will be
grateful, and some groceries and even crickets, I did a bit of spinning, made
some fish for supper, did more spinning and that was pretty much the day.
Today I
have to focus on paperwork: final tax stuff, bills, filing. And I will ply the
next to last pink stuff. I think K might be up, maybe we will go to Black
Sheep. I don’t think there will be any biking to speak of, though I need to get
out for something, what it is I can’t remember. Oh, I need to get to the bank
for one thing. So maybe I will bike to that. Odd how it feels like the day is
stretching out before me. If I just take a peak in my notebook I will see the
vast ToDo list and that will quell any feeling of openness.
Saturday
I plucked Fabio and clipped the baby coat from Gnatalie. I need to finish
Fabio. I need to give another dose of Ivermectin to Bart. I need to make up
some posters to put about advertising the rabbits I have available.
Oh dear,
the local chipmunk is running about on the porch. I imagine it is awaiting its
sunflower seed treat. I have taken to putting out a small handful every
morning. Bad of me, I know, but they are awfully cute so what the heck.
I got
another copy of Americanah so I’ve
been back to reading that. I will finish soon and get back to Dying. I actually am getting kind of
tired of the racism theme in the book which is interesting. In point of fact, I
rarely think about the topic and reading the book brings up the reality that
for some folks, clearly racism is a reality that is constantly in their
awareness. Interesting.
Blah. It
is such an extraordinarily lovely morning. But I still feel kind of blah. I did
not stretch this morning, mainly bc I threw on regular clothes and K was still
sleeping and it is hard to stretch with jeans on. Oh well.
