Roof Work

Tues 7 am

                Today is roofing day. The roofers will be here soon to put the metal roof on so that then the solar panels can be installed. Very exciting. I would be happier about it if the money from

Wednesday 7 am

                Clearly I never got back to writing. Too distracting with these guys banging around. Then at 10 I biked up to bring the bike in to get the front derailleur replaced. And then they called to say that really I should replace the front gears (they call it something that I cannot remember) too bc the ones I have are not completely round. Some odd thing that the bike world did for a while thinking that it was better but it was not. So ok I had them do it. $$$$$. I had expected it to be about $100 and the derailleur was only $50 so the whole thing was about $100 so there you go. Here are the guys. They are doing their thing so I will write. Here at my little desk which is nearly covered w papers so a bit awkward, but the kitchen table is too high so also awkward.

                Big thing for today is that I must go to my appointment w the orthopedic surgeon re my shoulder. That is 2:30 and I must bike to the farm to get the car from G so I’ll leave around 12:30. Then there is the fair follow up meeting at 6, so I will probably just go straight there. Or rather, I will go to hang about in some nice café. I guess the apt will end around 3:30, so I’ll be in there around 4.

                I finished the last full 3 oz of the pink stuff. Well, spinning and plying. Need to wind it off. Then I have what is left on the bobbin, which is a good ounce I figure, and I have a good bit left over of unspun so I can probably get another 2 oz, and then there is the darker stuff. Not sure if there will be enough light to ply them together. Then I can move on to something else! I will wait on the pink sandwich stuff as I am rather tired of pink. I have to look over the options.

                I also want to bake some carob granola bars. I’ve had the recipe for a while and want to try it.

                Boy I slept really poorly last night. And I was tired all yesterday so I ended up taking a nap around 4 which is probably not a good idea. And eating chocolate. So then I could not sleep. And then around 2 or 3, the renter started doing something upstairs that involved lots of clanking sounds on her floor. I can’t help but wonder if there was a bit of a passive/aggressive thing due to all the crashing that happened most of the day yesterday from the roofers. And there will be even more today as they are now working on her side of the roof. Oh well. I am hoping they need just 2 more days but of course weather could impact all that, too.

                This weekend is Prairie Home, so we will leave for that on Sat around 2. And before that I will need to go pick up picnic treats and pack a cooler and chairs etc. We will come back right after. Had thought about going to the farm, but sister is there with her knitting group, so not really an option anyway. Other thing I did yesterday was to deposit the check from Mom into her account. Now I need to get hold of the accountant to see what else needs to happen for her and the Trust taxes. And contact all the cousins. And then work more on the pile that is all over my desk. Well right now I will make a smoothie and toast for breakfast. No need to think about supper which is nice. What about tomorrow night, and Fri??? I guess I’ll think of something.
