Work

7:30 am
Work has started with a bang. The good part is that I like it, the not so good is that I am incredibly busy and there is just so much to try to do to get ready for all these labs. All last week and this week I’ve been sorting and putting together the respirometry set ups. Lots of tubing, small bits of equipment, wires wires wires and right now I have two working set ups, but they are pretty much in a jumble. So now I have to figure out how to get them set so they are less of a jumble and so the students can actually use them. And set up two more. But this morning before I do all that I must go over the lab instructions so they make sense and again so the students can actually follow them. That needs to get done so they can be copied and handed out in lecture on Friday. Today is the first lecture (good news here – I don’t have to give the lectures! Maybe I don’t get paid the big bucks, but then I don’t have to do a lot of the big work). It will be fun to see who will be in the class. I hope to get in pretty early (take the 8:30 bus), work on the write-up, get to lecture, then go straight from there to the gym. Then in the afternoon I’ll try to organize the equipment. I’ve been getting rides home with K which means leaving late – like at 5:30 – which means getting bunnies fed and supper made is a pain, but it does make the ride home shorter.
I had a really lousy morning before leaving for work yesterday because I really needed to get bills paid, and  - guess what… three of them were late and thus had late fees. DAMN DAMN DAMN. I HATE THAT. Ok, now it is done. Time to move past it. of course I still have more bills to pay, which I will need to do tonight. And tomorrow I will drive K to work so I can continue on to meet M for breakfast. Kind of crazy, I know, but she is leaving Saturday for parts south and will be stopping to see G at school so will take her some stuff. I guess I’ll go back to work after and then go back down to pick K up. Suckola. Maybe between all that I can actually get the lab stuff ready.
And now I must feed buns, take a shower and get myself on the road for the bus.
