Whew! In
spite of all our efforts the meeting yesterday went a lovely 4 (FOUR) hours. Mostly
because of all the picky changes that “had” to be discussed and made to the
treasurers report. I’m sure there was never this level of detail paid when D
and whoever preceded him were doing the books. Still, it “should” get
progressively better. Of course, as the meeting went on I kept saying “I’ll do
this” “I’ll call him” “I’ll check up on that” so at some point today I must go
over my notes and make a clear Fair ToDo list. And I already have quite a long
general list, starting of course with doing buns as soon as I finish writing
and I will hope before it starts raining – I heard thunder. Then I have a
dentist appt at 9:30. I was hoping to bike, but I guess that won’t happen. At least
I have the car, as K doesn’t go into work today. Which is also a good thing
because he is sick as a dog. Though why it is dogs that are always the
reference point I do not know. Dogs are not always or even usually sick. And certainly
not with the kind of cold/flu that K has. He is dragging himself around looking
as miserable as can be and every now and then hacking up fistfuls of who knows
what. It is nasty. I meanwhile am washing my hands every 3 minutes.
Hey, I think
I really had better feed those buns before it starts to pour.
Bunnies
are done, thunder is getting worse, but so far so good. Another few
minutes? Ooo, now some lightning! I
think I will go inside…….. ok. Came in. closed windows, now the entire house is
incredibly dark. Looks like it is going to let loose any minute. Well, I have
plenty to do inside, like laundry laundry laundry, cleaning the kitchen,
putting stuff away from the week, and spinning up the orange/brown crazy mix-up
stuff I carded Saturday. I only have 4 ounces, so it will not take long. When I
go to the dentist, I will also need to do some shopping – groceries and I think
I will stop by Michaels to get supplies for my class. Not really supplies, just
some samples of things to try out. I want to find some sort of easy thing they
could do with locks of wool. Glue might work, or sticky contact paper, or I was
thinking of some sort of mesh card that they could stick locks into. And I thought
of a way to warp a piece of cardboard so one could end up with a bag, sew up
the bottom and weave a drawstring through the top. It would be nice after
dentist and shopping to go somewhere like black sheep, but I think I will be
alone, Kent is not going anywhere. Not that that is a problem, nothing wrong
with black sheep by myself. Or Raos. Or somewhere.
I sure am
glad I took time to go up in the woods a few times. It leaves me with such good
images to play over in my mind. It is so beautiful there. When I went up Sat
afternoon I grabbed some lichen bits that had fallen from the wind earlier. I will
try boiling them. They look like the stuff that the woman at Woolapalooza said
dyes well w/ no mordant, and no putrifying like the rock tripe.
Time to
drink psillium and have some oatmeal. Wooo hoooo.
