grading and a show

7:30 am
Well today is going to suck. I will try eventually to adjust my attitude, fine the good in things, but right now this is what I anticipate First: I must feed the bunnies. Next: I must get myself somewhere that I can sit and start grading these crappy blood assignments. Next: at noon I must drive 1 ½ hours to Mom’s to see her “show.” It is some sort of variety show. I have heard reference to Abbot and Costello, which of course I have heard of, but I don’t actually know what that is. So anyway I must drive forever, go to this show, maybe stay to have supper, then drive back. And since I won’t have gotten much grading done I will have to spend all day tomorrow doing it. And then tomorrow night is bookclub. Ok, here’s my prediction: of 8 of us (?) 3 will have started the book. None will have finished it and at least one will have gotten about 5 pages in and stopped. To be fair it is turning out to be a bitch of a book to read. I am trying my hardest, but I very much doubt I will finish. It is all about this guy living in an alcohol fog. Not that interesting. Kind of a 1930’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
What else can I write about? I guess pretty soon I must do buns and get myself to town – Raos? BS? Loose Goose? Whatever. G and the crew butchered a bunch of chickens (old laying hens) Wednesday and she brought me the livers along with a bunch of starting to form eggs from the innards. I would like to cook them up soon, but I am not actually very hungry now and by the time I am hungry I will be not here. And I think I want to leave straight from where ever I go to drive to Mom’s. so I guess I’ll cook them tomorrow. Or tonight if we do not go out to eat. Speaking of which,  G and I went out to Paradise of India last night and had a lovely dinner. And I came home and made a nice fire and sat there reading Under the Volcano. I went to bed quite early, just after K got home (he had gone to see James Bond which is just as well bc I don’t want to see it). I do want to see Cloud Atlas, but I don’t think he would like it, so not sure when I’ll manage it. I don’t know anyone else that has read it or that would like to go.
So now – do I just go out and get something to eat out? And thus spend money, which I will anyway bc I’ll get something like tea and something sweet. Or should I eat something first to save some pennies? Whatever. I guess I’ll go feed buns. G gave me a huge bin of apple peelings and cores that they have been enjoying. I really need to do some plucking/cleaning up but not today I guess.
