7 am
So funny
thing: K drove L to the airport this morning. I got up just before they left to
say goodbye, then I went back to bed. I probably dozed a bit, but I kept kind
of thinking I really “should” get up, which I finally did, thinking that it was
getting really late and I was being a lazy bum because they left at 7:15 so it
must be 8 or 8:30. Well actually they left at 6:15 so I was not a lazy bum at
all. Well, it is just as well to be up since there is a lot to do. I was half
inclined to sit in bed to write and meditate, but that also felt lazy. Only now
I am cold. The other thing I should do is start a fire. Wouldn’t that be
lovely? But I won’t be home very long. Well, I’ll be home longer today
HA! Did
it. It was not especially hard, though I am not so sure it has really caught
well, I may have to fiddle a bit. Still, it is very cheery, which I need after
the hard weekend. Yesterday turned out ok, after a very rocky start. We went to
breakfast, to Kelly’s and it was very nice, we were all on good behavior. The rest
of the day I kind of dicked around. I did, as usual, a bunch of food stuff –
made more rabbit jerky, this time for me to keep, I actually finally made the
salsa verde that I had started (I didn’t do that til quite late in the day), I washed
a lot of dishes as usual and did a lot of tidying. Not that anything looks any
better than the usual disaster…I managed to grade the Monday proposals, and I even
mowed the back yard. Then late in the day L and I went to the college so she
could get a book – Sibley’s bird guide to Western US - and I picked up all the blood glucose meters
so I can look ever what we have and what we need for the independents. I sure
wish the students would get back to me about changes to their proposals. After that
we stopped at the farm to get our share and came home and I made velvetted
rabbit and stir fry veggies. It was pretty good. I have a mild disaster in that
the freezer, that was already full, got more full from the bag of blueberries
that L brought from Maine. They are lovely, but the bag is big, and I need to get
something else out of the freezer so I can get the ice cube trays back in. I was
thinking that I could give away some of the blueberries. I could also try drying
some. Of course the cookiecooling sheets I use for racks in the oven are too
coarse, it would be better to have finer mesh. But maybe I can just dry them
straight on the cookie sheets and just turn them a lot. And I should make some
jam, that would be great. More projects. Oh, the other thing I did yesterday
was to cut up my soap. It is quite soft in the interior part, so I cut it up
(it cut easily) and set the pieces out to dry more.
*NOTE:
K just called to say he left his briefcase, and he wants me to bring it to him,
well, not the whole way to work, but to meet him at the Bridge. So I need to be
there at 8:50, about an hour from now. I’ll need to leave here around 8:30. I should
find out when Target etc open because one of my big tasks for the day is to buy
those storage bins to bring to work so I can start to organize the blood and urinalysis
stuff better.
Other tasks
for the day – lots of errands: PO, bank, library. Oh, I also need to decide
what to buy in terms of these glucose meters and then either get them somewhere
like Walmart, or go to the medical supply place in Holyoke today while I have
the car.
Well I guess
I had better get a move on. I must eat bfast, feed the buns, meditate, and
figure out these meters. Except I might have to wait on the meters, bring them
back to work and figure them out there and pick them up after.
