Photos!

6:15 am
Once again it is truly lovely outside on the deck. Already or rather still hot inside.  I actually started weaving a rug yesterday. It is from some blue stuff, some yellow that used to be a bedspread at the farm, and the brown/blue bedspread that was in my old room in Weston. Nice thing is they were all already cut into strips. I want very much to decide what of all that fabric I actually want to use, then get rid of the rest of the boxes. I enjoyed weaving, it is satisfying to get one started, but I also realize that it is One More Thing. One more project. One more task that will take time and need to be worked on. I think once these rugs are woven I should try putting on a handspun wool warp and try weaving a shawl in preparation for a blanket. That was the original intention when I first bought the loom so many many years ago.
Speaking of many many years, I also went through the 2 boxes of journals yesterday. Mostly I figured out their dates and labeled them and put them in one box. They go from 1967-1999. Maybe later, can’t remember. Once again it was kind of depressing to read the bits I did. One interesting observation was that I would say that for most of them, it is about a journal a year, but then from about 1990-1999 it is just one journal! Hmmmm wonder why – those being the years the girls were young…..
I’m getting worried about these classes and need to really buckle down and plan. I guess tonight I will take photos of the girl from across the street and make up a flier to put around. Kind of late, but what can I say, just haven’t done it yet. I don’t really know any kids any more to use as models. Yesterday I decided to suggest to K that we go to Eselon on his way to work. It was a good idea, we had a fine time, and then I biked home, stopping at Whole Foods, the Credit Union and Camput Auto (still in quest of oil drain pans to use for solar dyeing). The bike ride was lovely, not too hot yet, but the whole thing took a long time and there went my morning. I spun the second bobbin of angora when I got back, and then actually managed to pluck/clip/clean up the other black “baby.” She was none too happy about it, but surely she is more comfortable now.
BEFORE

AFTER

Speaking of babies, I managed to take photos of the most recent batch and will try to upload them.
FIVE SQUIRMY BABES

I also, 2 days ago, took photos of a couple of skeins. One is the pink stuff
and I want to include a photo of something made from it, since the made thing has bloomed a bit and I want to emphasize that. So I will do that soon. Chance of thunderstorms today, but right now it is completely clear, though a tad hazy and the sun is still behind the trees. Once it is up I’ll take the photo. And I will finish plying the angora (started last night before we walked into town and sat at High Horse having a margarita (him) and bread pudding (me). Probably a stupid thing to get as I am decidedly gaining weight these days. I guess I really better go for my run before it gets hot.
Why do I write these morning pages? As if I will ever read them. I certainly have not read all those journals I just put in order. Well, I’ve glanced through them. When I am old and can do nothing else, I’ll read them and review my life……
