A Fabulous Fair

7:15 am
Tuesday lovely Tuesday. Right now the girls are here but soon they will take off . Of course it is kind of lovely having them here. Of course I adore them to pieces, but I also find it hard. What I find hard is having them both here because they are such chums and they get along so well together that I end up feeling like a third wheel. Back to the old familiar from my “family of origin” of feeling left out. Oh well.
On a better note I should say that the fair last weekend was fantastic. Better than I’ve ever done. I practically sold out of things. Certainly the little hair ties. I sold out, made more sat night, then all those sold. And things that I have had forever – those 2 bags I made ages ago – things like that even sold. So it is great, and now I have to get cranking to make up some more things. I’d better also check out my Etsy shop to be sure there is nothing listed that I no longer have, and get some new photos made up so I can list other things. I think I will set up my carders downstairs again so I can card up some more batts to spin. Too cold in the sun room these days.
As for today – well back to it. After a pretty much packed weekend, I now have a huge pile of grading to do. It is actually pretty bad. I have half of the Thursday results sections to give a quick look at and send any thoughts to the students, then I have to actually grade the ones from Monday lab, as well as an entire set of urine lab graphs, and now the presentations from Monday. And I really had best do those soon before I forget everything.
I am terribly uninspired at the moment. And besides all that, I have a bunch of rabbits that really need to be plucked or at least cleaned up. At least I am down to 12, that feels like a more reasonable number. It is supposed to be quite warm out today. Maybe I can get out and walk at some point – into town maybe? Or just do Misty Bottom, it has been ages since I did that. And maybe I can do a rabbit out in the sun room since it will be warm. And damp today which helps with the plucking.
Gotta read some Yeats for bookclub. I picked up all kinds of biography books but have not touched them. I haven’t even finished Under the Volcano yet. And what with all the work I have to do I’m not so sure I’ll do any of that. This weekend is at least looking a bit less crazy. Sunday is book club. I think there is something on the calendar for Saturday, but I don’t think it is anything huge. Which is very very good. Then next weekend is the opening night for the Hobbit!! We got tickets for the midnight Thurs show. That will be silly and exhausting. I’ll have to take a nap to get ready. Monday is the last day of classes, then they have reading period then the exam is self scheduled. It means that really I can keep working on the grading next week. I guess I’ll wait on the urine results sections until then and focus now on the independent projects. I’m not sure what will be happening with the exam, but I can offer to help with grading it. And then, I have all kinds of cleaning and organizing to do with the lab room upstairs. And all kinds of things to write up so I will remember them for the next time I teach this class. If I do. It will not be offered next fall, but I assume will be in the spring, so whether I will teach a 145 in the fall or what I don’t know.
