grading grading grading as ever

9 am
I can barely stand that it is already 9 am and I am going to sit here and attempt to write morning pages. Oh well. Sigh. We went to see Lincoln last night and got home late, so I slept in. and I am still feeling tired. And today is a big day of GRADING. I have from now until 4:15 to get through 10 more Independent results and presentations. It should be a breeze but as always it takes me forever. I could try going somewhere – Raos maybe. Well, we’ll see. I would also like to do a bit of plucking. I finished up Bathsheba and then did most of Ebony. Her coat was lovely –nice and long. I’m glad I chose to keep her. I must now do Ella so it will be good to see how her coat has grown in.
L left yesterday for Maine. She’ll be on her island for 3 weeks then back for a while to work until whatever comes next. As for right now … thurs night is the big opening night of the Hobbit movie so we are going at midnight (!) Right after the Cummington select board meeting. Oh joy. At some point in there the students will be taking their exam. I don’t yet know if the prof is going to want me to help her grade it. I expect that would make sense. IF I can finish the reports I’m working on now, then all I will have is all the urine graphs, and then the case studies they will turn in Monday. “all” well, that is plenty but I WILL finish them before the end of the week. Then “all” I have to do is clean organize sort the lab room. It will be used for neurobiology in the spring. I really really do not want to do a bunch of stuff for 200 all J term. I have plenty of revising and writing up to do for 328.
Well all this is pretty boring. At 4:30 today I will pick up my friend and head to book club. we were supposed to read Yeats poetry. I’ve been working at it, but to tell the truth I do not really like it. And probably no one else read any of it. I might look things up about him on line to see what condensed version of his life they have. I got a biography out of the library, but it is very thick and is only the first part of his life! I think I will continue to plow through it (so far I have only read about his parents). The one about Dylan Thomas was hard to get into but then really satisfying in the end.
Dullsville. I think I will make some delicious toast. And tea. Start the grading. Get everything set up, open the files I need on the computer etc, do one, then go feed buns as a break. Then do another. And then another. I am knitting a very nice angora/wool hat using the fat soft colored yarn with the bits of orange and green angora blended in that I used to make the scarf and mittens for our admin assist when she retired. I made one hat using that with stripes of angora now I have just a bit left so I am using the angora and putting in stripes of that. It is quite lovely. After that I need to start some serious spinning. Lots and lots of angora. And I would like to bring a table downstairs so I can set up the carder like I did last winter. And I’ve got to start in with some serious knitting too. Well the hats are a start.
