The Satisfaction of a Productive Evening

7 am
Not a lot of time bc I must do all the usual – stretch, eat, feed buns, gather stuff, plus shower (no time for gym this morning), deal with Tigger, and be ready at 8 to fill the car with all the stuff that I must bring for class, since I have the car today and probably will not bring it Thursday for class. I have 2 more drum carders, my “new” wheel plus some assorted bits and some wool. And now Tigger wants to go out again. I think he needs to poop which is good – do it outside – but he seems to be having trouble (not surprising since he seems to eat half of his diaper every night) and now he is going to just sit out there and bark. Oh brother. Would love to meditate, but not sure I have time for that.
Hmmmm. Alone. House to myself. And guess what – I LOVE it. Wonderful for the week. Last night I had the radio on all evening. Granted, it was just talk shows – Fresh Air, Best of our Knowledge and the Health show, and then Mountain Stage which one could not call raucous. But if K were here on the computer I would not have it on. Mostly I worked on a hat. I am using up some bits of yarn left from the hat I just finished and though at first I was pretty uncertain about it, now I think I really like it. The stripes are very narrow: 1-2 rows each and alternating brown, beige, orange in various sorts. It looks very earthy. I will finish on the bus. Oh, not taking the bus. Well, I’ll finish this evening. The other thing I did after work was make a very lovely potato leek soup. Which I will take to work. Meaning I will need to make something else for tonight since I did not make a lot (only 2 leeks). I think it will be some sort of rutabaga/potato/turnip mash thing. That should be good.
Oh, the other thing I managed to do (very productive yesterday) was find the needle felting stuff and so mend my slippers (yay) and a sock. That was satisfying. Now I can also put a design on that bag I felted ages ago. Well, except first I want to sew the zipper on it. And since the sewing machine seems to work, that should be fine.
Now: stretch, shower, dress and do buns. Time to meditate???? Yes. There is. So there.
